چکیده

This paper presents a fault detection method in three-phase induction motors using Wavelet Packet Transform (WPT). The proposed algorithm takes frame of samples from the supply current an motor. three phase are then combined to generate single signal by computing Root Mean Square (RMS) value at each time stamp. resulting divided into windows 64 samples. Each window is processed separately. uses two methods create samples, which called non-overlapping and moving/overlapping Non-overlapping created simply dividing while moving generated taking first consequent across one sample time. new consists last 63 previous sample. overlapping reduces accuracy. However, it computationally more expensive than requires computer memory. separately as follows: performs level WPT on its coefficients four wavelet subbands. Information high frequency subbands used for activating trip disconnect motor power supply. was implemented MATLAB platform, Entropy Energy (EE) subbands’ determine condition If faulty, proceeds identify type fault. An empirical setup system implemented, tested under real, where different faults were practically induced Experimental results confirmed effectiveness technique. To generalize method, experiment repeated types with working ages ratings. show that capability independent their ages.

Rotor Faults Detection in Induction Motor by Wavelet Analysis

ABSTRACT Motor current signature analysis has been successfully used for fault diagnosis in induction motors. However, this method does not always achieve good results when the speed or the load torque is not constant, because this cause variation on the motor slip and fast Fourier transform problems appear due to non-stationary signal. This paper experimentally describes the effects of rotor b...

Three-Phase Induction Motor Stator Current Optimization

This research presents two mathematical –based optimal control systems for induction motor drives leading to stator current optimization and energy saving. The first is a classical optimal control system, which uses information on torque of the motor to generate the appropriate voltage amplitude that minimizes the induction motor stator current. The second is a genetic algorithm-based optimal c...

Stator and Rotor Faults Monitoring of the Inverter-Fed Induction Motor Drive using State Estimators

The paper deals with the application of the Extended Kalman Filter and the Extended Luenberger Observer algorithms for the stator and rotor fault detection of the induction motor fed by PWM inverter. The induction motor conditions are analyzed using estimated rotor and stator-winding resistance. Mathematical models of the extended state estimators are presented, in which the stator and rotor re...
